I really will have to have a bash at transcribing the journal – come back in a year or so and I may have achieved it.
From what I can make out, Cuzco accommodation was poor and the Machu Picchu place was not much better. American tourists spent the train journey throwing up with the altitude. There was no getting to the ruins apart from official transport which was badly organised.
Doris and the tour felt it was better to stay at the hotel as a lightning storm was on them. Eventually however they donned macs and took atmospheric and haunting shots. More in the next post.
