These shots are from the central Anatolian town of Ihlara, with its rock hewn dwellings and numerous Byzantine churches built by Greek origin inhabitants, who were moved out in 1923.

    1. One suggestion. I only speak English but would like to understand your non-English posts. Perhaps you can add the ‘Google Translate’ widget. All the best – Chris

        1. Found it. In the menu. I’m not saying its right or wrong, but I have it on every page as that is where people enter the blog (and often go no further). It may not work for poetry which may need to be in its original or intended language to get the full impact. A quick anecdote. We had a builder in and he and I did not speak each other’s language. I typed in what I wanted him to do in Google Translate, printed it out and gave him the page. He first looked astonished, then laughed and immediately phoned up his boss and mates to tell them something. I have no idea what my words translated as, but it certainly was not what I intended. Chris

          1. In bahasa, the language is more complex, even the structure. The writers sometimes use a slank word in bahasa. So it makes what we’ve translate in Google Translate are different/strange with the target language we wanted for.
