1972 Thailand

311. Thailand 1972 – 1. Bangkok Wats

Hello – Welcome to WDEOD, a site full of Doris’ photographs!

Its purpose is to share the shots she took in her 50+ years of travel. I’m trying to do a post a film – so one tour may have many posts.
To see what I’ve put up so far, use the menu (three lines up there ↑ if you are on a phone or tablet) to go to a place or a year.

Four years after her SE Asia tour, Doris was back in Thailand. But only for a short while as it was the start point for he ‘Borneo’ tour.

Fortunately for me, the slide mount printing was dramatically different betweeen sets, plus there was a reasonably understandable sequence of numbers which Doris had written on herself.

The numbers go up to ~600, but there are far less slides here. I can only think she combined sets from different tours.

This first set are travel photographs from around some Bangkok Wats. A Wat is a Buddist Temple.

I hope you enjoy them.

    1. Hopefully she’d be pleased. My wife said she was very proud of her slides and would do lectures with them at our local community centre. I am pleased that I have her journals too. Often there are snippits of information that add to the photograph such as in Egypt where they went via Sudan to Abu Simbel and then got held up, with no water, on the way back or in Italy 69 where their accomodation was a yellow house with green shutters, impossible to find as they arrived at night.
