Hello – Welcome to WDEOD, a site full of Doris’ photographs!
Its purpose is to share the shots she took in her 50+ years of travel. I’m trying to do a post a film – so one tour may have many posts.
To see what I’ve put up so far, use the menu (three lines up there ↑ if you are on a phone or tablet) to go to a place or a year.
This is the third set of slides from Doris’ South East Asia tour with the films developed Jan 1969.
There is a notebook, covered, like we had to do at school, in an obviously 1960s piece of wallpaper (straw covered Chianti bottles and vines). Actually there above the grapes I can see “Thai 68”. I’ll have to edit those already posted.
The notes are all over the pad, some faded into obscurity, most hard to read. There are anecdotes mixed in with ‘tour guide potted histories’.
One day I’ll revisit the notebooks but they are disjointed and difficult to follow. If I can pull an anecdote or three out, I will,
This set must be taken from a tourist boat – like one in the crowded scene a few shots down.
And after the canals off to a museum..
