228. SE Asia 1968 – Thailand Bangkok, Temple of the Dawn

Hello – Welcome to WDEOD, a site full of Doris’ photographs!

Its purpose is to share the shots she took in her 50+ years of travel. I’m trying to do a post a film – so one tour may have many posts.
To see what I’ve put up so far, use the menu (three lines up there ↑ if you are on a phone or tablet) to go to a place or a year.

When I first brought the slides back to the house I piled them up in my son’s room. He was away at University at the time. But still minded.

I then did a macro sort, by year and then month. This would be when they were developed, not taken. A shot could have sat in the camera for ages.

For the SE Asia tour, I have some ‘odds’ developed Dec 68, about 24 sets developed Jan 69 and again a few odds developed Feb and March 69.

Ignoring the non-Jan 69 shots I found that Doris had pencilled numbers on the slides. The numbering was not complete (I think it started at 4) and there was not an exact correlation between what were obviously sets (the way the Kodak printing looks with different inks and fonts) but it was a goo rough guide.

So, why this preamble? Shots 109, 108, 110 and 111 are from the end of a film (nos 34, 35, 37 and 38). The Royal Barge at the end of the last post was 113, the last canal shot 106 so these obviously fitted in. They most probably are someone else’s shots thinking about it.

The lettering must have been letrasetted on afterwards and of course is wrong – we’re no where near it.
