Hello – Welcome to WDEOD, a site full of Doris’ photographs!
Its purpose is to share the shots she took in her 50+ years of travel. I’m trying to do a post a film – so one tour may have many posts.

This is the second set concludes a first visit to Wat Phra Keaw. There are more noted as Wat Phra Kaew in a later set which is very confusing. It might be that she revisited, or misnumbered the slides, or included other’s shots. We’ll never know.
Along with the slides are often tickets, itineraries and notebooks. For Thailand, these are written as notes as aide memoires. I’ll paraphrase.
Doris used guided tours but often seemed to explore on her own away from the group. She wrote that here she went to rejoin the group and were told they were at the bus. There, and at the refreshments, none were to be seen. So she went into the Palace “on American ticket. He not dressed properly.” which I assume means that an American man had been refused entry after getting the ticket and gave it to her. How nice. She then goes on that after a quick look round she went back again to the bus gone, and had to hire a taxi to find it and follow it to the next temple. Here …
