You can read Alec Rose’s story on Wiki. This shot was taken at Holborn Circus outside the Daily Mirror building after he returned from his circumnavigation of the globe.

Three shots of St Paul’s taken from where Doris must have been working for the GPO. The building is now Ofcom’s Riverside House. The building in construction to the North east is one of the towers of the Barbican. The green dome is Old Bailey.

This one is of the deconstruction of the ‘New’ London Bridge (1837 – 1967). The parts were numbered and shipped to Lake Havasu City, Arizona where the bridge now stands.

The modern, still existing London Bridge is pretty boring. There’s a church at the north end with a model of how the original, shop lined and wide piered looked.
