Hello – Welcome to WDEOD, a site full of Doris’ photographs!
Its purpose is to share the shots she took in her 50+ years of travel. I’m trying to do a post a film – so one tour may have many posts.
To see what I’ve put up so far, use the menu (three lines up there ↑ if you are on a phone or tablet) to go to a place or a year.
I believe to be someone else’s shots. Looking at the slides, I am slowly recognising the shots Doris liked to take. There are loads of ‘through an archway’ (which confuses my scanner’s autoselect as it cannot distinguish between deep shadow and the edge of the slide), ‘woman with something on her head’ and ‘flowers’ (which I won’t publish as they hold no interest for me). Her pictures also seem to need to be rotated 2 degrees anticlockwise always. Plus she chose a good quality film which has stood the test of time.
These following I take to be shots she gathered from others. The subjects differ to normal and frankly I feel the person was falling over when taking some of them as the rotation needed to straighten them is up to ten degrees.
You feel there is a story to be told here.
I am particularly pleased by this one as time spent on photoshop turned it into an overexposed, off kilter forgettable picture into one of a beautiful woman in mid dance. I bet, by the way that the guy is holding that fag that he was in the army.
When I was trying to find where these pictures were taken, I put this picture into Google Images. The only results were for a book on the expulsion of the Moors from Spain. So here is the painting without the title writing over it.
