Hello – Welcome to WDEOD, a site full of Doris’ photographs!
Its purpose is to share the shots she took in her 50+ years of travel. I’m trying to do a post a film – so one tour may have many posts.
To see what I’ve put up so far, use the menu (three lines up there ↑ if you are on a phone or tablet) to go to a place or a year.
Doris took about 600 shots on her 1966 tour or Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. Many are close ups of exotic flowers or long blurred shots of wildlife. I have no interest in either so have not included most, apart from the following few.
Other pictures from the trip can be found from within here.
There are a number of these Equator markers stretched across Uganda, suitably graffitti’d.
This is a monument to the German zoologist Michael Grzimek. This shot was taken before his father, Bernhard, died and a second plaque was added.
A little sequence above and around Murchison Falls (Kabalega Falls) on the Nile.
And another Equator marker plus Doris.
