Photographs from what looks like a day out, probably visiting friends and being driven about. I do not think Doris drove. Certainly I found I could not get the car through her gateway as the gap in the front garden wall was too narrow. The guy who later bought the house just knocked the thing down to fit in his three cars and a van.
These may, of course, be separate trips. The development date is November 1966 so I would assume the shots were taken late summer / early autumn (judging by the colours of the leaves and the state of the flowers) and that there were a few later shots which have since been lost.
With the help of Google maps and images I have identified Leigh, Cowden and Hever but I cannot see where the moated building is, despite a virtual drive down the B2188/Groove Road and another down Rywell Road. My guess is Chiddingstone or Penshurst, but I’m happy to be proved wrong.
This first one is a double exposure with Westminster clearly superimposed on the Church.
This seems so familiar but I cannot locate it.
This is now a private house.
