Hello – Welcome to WDEOD, a site full of Doris’ photographs!
Its purpose is to share the shots she took in her 50+ years of travel. I’m trying to do a post a film – so one tour may have many posts.
To see what I’ve put up so far, use the menu (three lines up there ↑ if you are on a phone or tablet) to go to a place or a year.
These slides take in a little bit of Devon (probably) and then go through Lynmouth to Glastonbury.
We visited Glastonbury in May 2017 and I’ve added a couple of my shots.
The purple is Erica tetralix (which along with Nethrops norvegicus could be the only Latin names I remember from my biology degree!)
There is a twin town of Lynton reached by a cliff railway which I think my parents took me to when I was young (about five or six years after these were taken).
The only thing that seems to have changed are the amount of visitor and the museum like glass walkways within.
As mentioned, here are some of my pictures (well, as that’s me in the purple shirt, my wife must have taken this). That’s daughter #2 being silly and son #2 studiously ignoring her.
That’s my wife walking towards us.
This next shot is in Glastonbury Town showing the Tribunal in 1964
And here it is in 2017.
One day I’ll get a j-script slider-comparison plugin.
We met the lady crossing the road later inside the Abbey and she showed us around her herb garden.
