1950s Austria Lantern

5. Austria 1950 – St Anton, Innsbruck and Kufstein (and a Tyrolean trio)

Hello – Welcome to WDEOD, a site full of Doris’ photographs!

Its purpose is to share the shots she took in her 50+ years of travel. I’m trying to do a post a film – so one tour may have many posts.
To see what I’ve put up so far, use the menu (three lines up there ↑ if you are on a phone or tablet) to go to a place or a year.

These are lantern slides.

Alongside the sides, we were given a couple of boxes of journals, itineraries and tiourist leaflets. At the back of one was a list Doris made of her visits. Austria was mentioned a number of times and I’m guessing, as she switched to Kodak mounts in the mid-1950s that these particular slides date to 1950.

As you may see, the slide is quite dirty despite my careful attempt to clean it. For my last birthday I got a Canon 9000F/II scanner which can remove dust and scratches. The downside is that scanning takes longer and sometimes the colours go awry.
